Learning outcomes 

The course is aimed at expanding and activating students’ German vocabulary related to everyday life. 

After completing the course, students will be able to

  • Independently use the vocabulary studied in oral and written communication
  • Express their opinion in discussions on everyday topics
Completion methods 

The course includes 26 hours of contact teaching and 26 hours of independent study.

Compulsory attendance (at least 75%).


Starting level CEFR A2 (PDF).

Level A1 courses at the Language Centre or corresponding studies, as well as at least one level A2 course.


Topics include studying, leisure time activities, health, shopping and social interaction. The topics can be emphasised according to students’ wishes.

During the course, straightforward authentic texts are examined, and the vocabulary used in them is rehearsed, including in written assignments. During the lectures, students will complete oral exercises in pairs and small groups, using the vocabulary studied.

Assessment practices and criteria 

Assessment is based on the learning outcomes. The teacher will make a separate announcement on the written or oral assignments required for the course.
