Description
Target group 

Students of all faculties, students with a JOO flexible study right, international students.

The course is suited, for example, for supporting basic courses or reviewing pronunciation rules.

 
Learning outcomes 

After completing the course, students will

  • Be proficient in the basics of Spanish pronunciation and have practised their intonation
  • Be able to recognise the intonation and rhythm of speech
  • Have familiarised themselves with Spanish variants and dialectal differences  
 
Completion methods 
  • 14 hours of contact teaching and 12 hours of independent study
  • Compulsory attendance in contact teaching (75%). Completion of agreed assignments in time
  • Extensive speaking practice in pairs, listening exercises and repetition drills
 
Prerequisites 

Starting level: No prior studies in Spanish are required for the course.

 
Contents 

The course examines Spanish pronunciation rules, trains students in stress and intonation as well as familiarises them with Spanish variants and dialects (e.g., Argentina, Andalusia). The course includes an extensive amount of speaking exercises.

Provided by the teacher.

 
Assessment practices and criteria 

Completion of the assignments given. Oral testing in small groups and a learning journal or equivalent.

 
Relations to other study units 

Recommended especially in support of basic Spanish courses or for reviewing pronunciation.
