Primary graduate and post-graduate students in social sciences; secondary students interested in computational social science.
Course will focus on learning the basics of programming with Python. We will also examine papers, which have applied computational social science.
There are no formal prerequisites for the class, but those who have not taken the CSS 1 (Introduction to computational social science) will be asked to self study key concepts presented in that course. The lecturer will provide hints about this before and during the lectures.
Passing the course will require solving programming exercises and taking actively part on classroom discussions.
NOTE ! Please, agree with your supervisor on the inclusion of the course in your required doctoral studies !
Toteutus ja työtavat
Class will apply flipped learning approach, where students familiaralize to the content before the workshops. During workshops, we discuss about the assigned literature and students can work on the programming exercises with tutoring from the teacher.
